Class 1 or 2? Scope? Insurance? The electric mops have increasingly taken over the streets with longer range and are cheap in both operation and maintenance. Choosing an electric moped is both kind to the environment and a pleasant driving experience.

1. Electricity instead of petrol

2-stroke engine that spits out petrol, a more environmentally friendly 4-stroke engine with smoother engine running or an environmentally friendly and quiet electric motor? The choice should not be very difficult. With an electric mop, you pay 20 öre/mile instead of refueling and coughing up SEK 7/mile, and with a fully charged Vässla battery you go 4-6 miles before you need to charge again. If you have also bought an extra battery that is easily stored under the seat, you will get double that. Leave the battery in the electric moped and charge using an electrical plug or remove the portable battery and charge directly with a mains plug. 220V min. 10A.

2. Maximize reach.

An electric moped's range is affected in the same way as the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine. It goes without saying; if you have a heavy load, face uphill into a headwind and also have poor air in the tires, you will not get as far as the opposite. What eats the most battery is acceleration, so keep a low and steady speed to go further. Inflating tires to 2.5 bar pressure is also a good way to maximize your range.

3. What does class 1 moped mean?

Vässla 2 electric moped is a Class 1, meaning it is an EU moped and can be driven at a maximum speed of 45 km/h. You need to wear a helmet and have an EU moped driving license, and be at least 15 years old with AM authorization. Apply for a driving license permit and take moped training at a driving school and pass the theoretical exam at the Transport Agency.

An ordinary driver's license is of course also fine. The moped must have a registration plate in the back and be at least traffic insured. With the EU moped, you may not drive on cycle paths or motorways. Keep in mind that the person riding a low-cost ride must also wear a helmet.

4. Easy to cook and serve.

Regardless of whether you choose new or used, the moped should be serviced regularly, and we believe that the first inspection should be done after a few months. The most important reason is to retighten bolts and check the brakes. Before you choose an electric moped, check how easy it is to get spare parts and service. Some cheaper models can become expensive in the long run when they cannot be repaired. We provide a 2-year warranty on the electric moped, as well as a 1-year warranty on the battery. For Vässla Kick, we offer a 1-year warranty. More information can be found under warranty & returns.

5. Insurance for electric mopeds.

Before you can feel the wind in your hair, you must have insurance. The minimum is a so-called traffic insurance. It does not compensate for damage to the moped, but primarily covers damage to your fellow passengers and their property, for example if you hit a car. If you are injured in a traffic accident, traffic insurance also provides compensation for you and your passengers.

We still recommend that you choose either full or half insurance. A semi-insurance includes, in addition to traffic insurance and traffic accidents, protection against fire and theft. Full insurance covers damage to the moped itself as a result of, for example, a traffic accident.
