'This group is going to invent a new electric vehicle. Good luck!'
"We have started a collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology. Six students will be doing their master's theses in collaboration with Vässla, and the task is to develop a completely new vehicle in the field of micromobility (small and light electric vehicles) for the age group of 10-15 years. It should have better range and comfort than traditional kick scooters, and the price should be affordable. And ideally, it should be fun, so that one is tempted to use it."
And they can come up with exactly what they want.
At Chalmers, technical thinking is combined with innovation, collaboration, and community engagement. I have no idea what this electric vehicle will ultimately look like and how it will function. It might be a two-wheeled moped-like thing or a three- or four-wheeled cart that can be driven on bike paths. Or something else. Anything is possible. For Vässla, it's about daring to dream, being a little naive – not limiting oneself. I am sure that the students' free minds, sharp brains, and willingness to challenge will amaze us.
"The task is actually much bigger than a new electric vehicle."
"It is about a society in change, where one can participate and make a difference. Allowing the talents of the future to contribute their ideas and perspectives in the development of environmentally friendly transport solutions can also influence and nurture a generation that prioritizes sustainability. Thus, the project aims not only to develop a new, fun, and smart product for micromobility but also to shape the next generation of conscious citizens."
"I will get back to you with more information when things happen!"
